Después de haber aprendido Family Members, en esta lección aprenderemos The Numbers los números en inglés americano del 1 a 1 millón.
Igual que en castellano, hay dos tipos principales de números en inglés americano:
Cardinal Numbers: 1 (one), 2 (two), etc. (Utilizado principalmente para contar)
Ordinal Numbers: 1st (first), 2nd (second), etc. (Se usa principalmente para poner las cosas en una secuencia)
Cardinal Numbers
Los números cardinales se usan normalmente cuando tú:
- Cuentas cosas: I have two brothers. There’s 30 days in May.
- Das tu edad: I’m 30 years old. My sister’s 27 years old.
- Proporcionas tu número de teléfono: My telephone number is two-six-three-three-eight-four-seven (263-3847)
- Das tu fecha de nacimiento: I was born in July, 1991. America was discovered in 1492.
En muy común para los americanos dividir el año en dos partes, es decir, para referirse al año 2020, el americano promedio diría: year twenty-twenty en vez de decir year two thousand and twenty

Ordinal Numbers
Normalmente puedes crear números ordinales agregando -TH al final de un número cardinal.
Los números ordinales se usan normalmente cuando tu:
- Das una fecha: My birthday is on the 27th of January. (Twenty-seventh of January)
- Ordenas una secuencia: Liverpool came second in the football league last year.
- Das el piso de algún edificio: His office is on the tenth floor.
- Das un aniversario: He had a huge party for his twenty-first birthday.
- Te refieres a algún siglo: Shakespeare was born in the 16th century.

The Number 0
Normalmente decimos «zero» para el número «0», PERO cuando damos nuestro número de teléfono, a menudo decimos «O» como la letra «O» de «Oscar».
